Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers across the United States and the common denominator is SPEED! Statistics show teenage drivers are four times more likely to crash than experienced drivers because teens are inexperienced drivers. Their inexperience behind the wheel sometimes leads to driving too fast and recklessly. In addition, nearly two out of three crash deaths involving teenage drivers, happen when a driver has one or more teenage passengers in the vehicle.
Tragically, these statistics proved all too true in the community of Campbellsport. To create awareness, Score One Productions created Speak Up to Slow Down, a ‘call to action’ campaign designed to make teenagers more aware of the consequences of driving too fast and recklessly and to empower teenage passengers to ‘Speak Up’ when they feel they are in an unsafe vehicle.
